3M Vetrap is a self adhering stretch tape that will stick to itself but not to your injured bird's feathers. It is a must for your birdy medicine cabinet and is used to immobilize a bird with minor injuries that require a wing or other extremity be kept close to the body. We've chosen the wider size to give you the ability to cut pieces to fit just about any size bird.
Measure girth of affected bird. Cut a piece of 3M Vetrap Bandaging Tape that is three times the girth of the bird. For small birds, cut the Vetrap in half to 2" wide. Apply at approximately 50% stretch. Applying too tightly may impair circulation. Apply last wrap with no tension; press firmly into place.
Vetrap tape should be removed and reapplied daily.
Vetrap tape should NOT be applied directly over open wounds.
CAUTION: This product contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions in humans.
This roll of 3M Vetrap Bandaging Tape is 4" wide and will stretch to 5 yards. 2.2 yards when not stretched.
